The west exit and Sotetsu exit area of Yokohama Station is a lively bar district. Occasionally, tout will approach passersby, but the restaurants recommended by tout are often disappointing, so I decide myself every time. First, I visited Yokohama west exit first avenue. In Japanese, first avenue is called Ichibangai.
Unexpected ending at Yokohama West Exit ichibangai
Ichibangai Various restaurants are concentrated here. There was a sign posted in front of Yokohama West Exit Ichibangai that offered delicious-looking ramen, so I went inside with high expectations,
but I couldn't find it. The exhibiting stores will probably change depending on the season.
A slightly unique restaurant
Next, I visited "Yakimeshi/Yakispa Kintaro". Yakispa is an abbreviation for grilled spaghetti. It is made by frying spaghetti that has already been boiled in a frying pan. It's a hearty type of spaghetti.
Yakisupa is the junk food that men all over the world are looking for. It was the perfect restaurant for me Because I hadn't eaten anything since morning and was hungry. Below is the food menu.
At first glance, you might think it's a menu from an ordinary diner, but if you look closely, you'll find it to be unique. They have okonomiyaki-style grilled spaghetti and baked pasta with curry meat sauce.
This restaurant is for working class people
After receiving your order, the following soups will be served here.
It has a slightly strong flavor, is simple and easy to drink. This soup is not an otoshi, so it's free. Otoshi is a small dish served after receiving an order at a Japanese style pub. However, set meal restaurants like Yaki Spa do not have otoshi. The otoshi is basically charged. But you don't have to worry about them taking your money.
Everything comes true in one dish
I ordered this dish.
You can enjoy spaghetti, pork cutlet, and fried rice in one dish. Recommended for people who want to eat both noodles and rice at the same time. This is still a regular size. For an average adult male, the regular size will fill you up, but there are three larger sizes. I saw someone ordering a large plate of spaghetti near my seat, and it was a heaping. If you are served such a large amount of noodles, I think you will get tired of it.
Also pay attention to the side menu
If you tend to get bored easily, you may want to order a set of fried shumai(steamed meat dumpling), hamburger, pork cutlet, and fried horse mackerel with toppings. The old lady at this restaurant is generous and cooks the food skillfully. It's a place that office workers and single men like, but foreigners can also come here to eat.
By the way, this place is not suitable for a date. It's not an vibe for drinking alcohol elegantly. I think it's fine for couples who have known each other for a while, but it's probably not the kind of place you'd come to on a first date.
You will never get bored in the Yokohama West Exit area
There are various other shops in the Yokohama West Exit area. Italian restaurants, adult massage parlors, photo booth(purikura), bowling alleys, pachinko, hot spring facilities, etc. They have everything except nature. I think people who want to enjoy a city-like experience in Japan will be satisfied.
